Creek Songs

Creek songs vary from location to location and every spill has its own melody.

Every spill and fall along our creek has a song. Today I visited a few locations to record them. Creek songs vary from place to place. Each voice is unique and beautiful. Some draw me more than others. My favorite spot in this series even had the perfect rock for sitting on:

Perfect Place for Creek Songs

The reason it was my favorite location was not only because of the perfect seating, but also because of the song. The rock is the right height to sit and there’s the mostly dry flat rock for my feet. There is even a molded shape that fit me comfortably. I know it’s hard to imagine that a rock could be comfortable to sit on, but this one is. Hopefully, future floods won’t wash it out of place.

This one just felt the best, the sound soothed the most, and I could have sat there for hours.

Nature Connection – Tech Disconnection

There’s no cell signal anywhere along the creek, so it also offers a respite from connectivity. Instead, it offers complete connectivity to nature, something we all need sometimes.

Madison Woods or Roxann Riedel - same person, same nature lover.

I’m a nature-lover, real estate agent & artist. Sometimes, I also write things. I began using local pigments to paint scenes from nature in the Ozarks in 2018.

All of my artwork is available in prints, and where originals are available, they are for sale. You can find all of that over at shop.WildOzark.com.

If you’re interested in buying or selling in rural northwest AR, get in touch with me by phone, text, or email. I’m happy to help! I have a separate website for my real estate blogging and information at WildOzarkLand.com.

Call me “Roxann” or “Madison”, either one works.

I love the video, Madison! I enjoyed all the various creek sounds that you included and I do understand that a rock can feel comfortable. I also could sit and listen to the sounds of water running for a long time, provided it isn’t going in my basement or leaking somewhere in my house. Lol. Yes, connection with nature is so necessary for people today and so neglected. In the city, it’s hard to get away from the sounds of the traffic, but if you’re out in nature enough, you don’t notice them as much.

    Have a lovely week.

LOL, definitely not the same soothing sound if it’s not where it’s supposed to be! Interesting about that noticing/not noticing! Maybe when you’re surrounded by city things, if you’ve been in nature enough, you’re attuned to see nature more easily even in cities and the city sounds become less bothersome. Thank you, and you have a lovely week, too 🙂

It’s such a sweet creek when it’s not flooding 😉 Thank you – were you able to leave your comment without having to login this time? I keep trying different ways so that it works without having to do that.
