Getting over my video fear. Image is a rock in the creek with pigment scrapes on the front.

Overcoming Video Fear

Today I went out to check and see if the ginseng unfurling had begun. It hasn’t. But if you want to read my update on what is up, head on over to my ginseng website. Then I hiked around to see if the Showy orchids had come up yet. And they hadn’t either. But I did see some good pigment rocks in the creek and so I decided to try making another video to show how I test them. I’m working at overcoming my video fear. It’s not a fear of filming things, it’s a fear of being the one in front of the camera.

Oh the lengths I’ll go to in an effort to do some marketing and try to get exposure. I’m not sure if I should continue trying to do videos, really. I’m terrible at it. If I keep practicing, surely I’ll get better at it? Oh God, I hope so.

Video Fear

It’s hard for me to get photos of myself that I like, and even harder to watch or listen to myself on video. But YouTube is a great way to bring my art to more eyeballs and I’ve got to get over this video fear. So I’m embracing my inadequacy and leaning into the learning. We’ll all just get good belly laughs in the process of my becoming better at it.

Enjoy!

I hate needing this anti-theft software, but my entire website is being scraped and republished on other sites. If you'd like to use photos or content on your own website, go to my Contact page and let me know. I'm almost always happy to allow it.
