Waste Not Want Not

So the other day as I was arranging a layout to print an 8 x 10 and a 5 x 7, I thought of a way to use up the extra space on the 24″ length of paper. Ordinarily, I just save the scraps to make paint swatches on, but I have a ton of it now and don’t need any more.

So, I added two note cards to the end and it neatly used up 8″, but there was still more space left. I could have put another 8 x 10 instead of the note cards, but I wanted cards. So I added a row of tiny little 1″ prints in the space between the cards and the 5 x 7. And that left another inch row beneath the 5 x 7. So I put more there, too.

The layout for a print run including the tiny little prints. No more wasted paper!

Tiny Little Prints

The little one inch prints are surprising in how detailed they still are! I love them. I’m going to use them to glue onto packages and envelopes like decorative stamps. They’re about the size of a postage stamp.

If you’d like to have a couple, sign up for my newsletter and include your mailing address. I’ll be sending a couple of these out to anyone on the list with an address in the US. If you’re outside the US and want some, I’ll have to find out how much postage will be and you can send that by PayPal and I’ll send you some too.

I’ll be sending those out in the month of March. And January, February, & March birthday subscribers will also get a 4 x 6″ print. The winner of the 4 x 6″ mounted print will be announced in the March newsletter, too. If you’re not in on that but would like to be, read the most recent newsletter. There’s a link to it at my newsletter signup page (the button below will bring you there).
