A while back I decided to make an art book to send to my collectors. They’re not big door-stopper books, just a catalog of the current art available, with some prose. Every year I’ll make one but will start with the new art since the first catalog. And I’ll put different articles in them. Depending on the feedback from this experiment, I might add longer or just more short essays in future books.

As I was doing the layout for my art book and adding the articles about my process, I began to think it might be a book worth listing at Amazon, too. Plus, I could sell a few copies at the studio. My life out here at Wild Ozark is a huge influence on my art, so there’s an endless amount of subject matter I can write about for future volumes. Likewise, there’s an endless amount of life and experiences that give me ideas for new paintings.
It’s taken a few weeks to get my order in, but they’re finally here and I love them. I hope you do, too!
How to Get One of my Art Books
There’s 3 ways:
- Order from Amazon ($35)
- Come by the studio ($10) for an autographed copy
- Order directly from me ($15) for an autographed copy
Reviews
If you’ve read any of my books and enjoyed them, please consider leaving me a review at Amazon. I hate asking for reviews, but it’s the grease for the wheels at places like Amazon. Otherwise, it’s very hard to get seen by anyone else who might like them.
My Other Books
As I was making this post, I realized I haven’t posted or talked much about the other books I’ve written over the years.
Aside from my new art book, there are some ginseng-related and plant information books, and also fiction. My fiction pseudonym is ‘Ima Erthwitch’, because I wanted to keep the fiction and non-fiction separate. There’s two of a three book series in the fiction category. It is taking me a long time to finish that series, so I’m not going to guess at a timeline for when the last book might be finished. But I intend to try and get it done sooner rather than later.
These are all available as Kindle or paperback:

Madison Woods is a self-taught artist who moved to the Ozarks from south Louisiana in 2005. In 2018 she began experimenting with watercolor painting, using her local pigments. She calls them Paleo Paints. In 2023 she began her journey into the world of oil painting with those same pigments. Her paintings of the Ozark-inspired scenes feature exclusively the lightfast pigments foraged from Madison county, Arkansas. Her inspiration is nature – the beauty, and the inherent cycle of life and death, destruction and regeneration. Wild Ozark is also the only licensed ginseng nursery in Arkansas. Here’s the link for more information on the nursery end of life out here.
