Rattlesnake Plantain Drawing | NFT artwork & Real artwork

Here’s the progression of how this drawing of a Rattlesnake Plantain went from outline to done:

This orchid is one of six NFT’s in my collection at Opensea. The buyer of the NFT gets to decide what I do with the original (real) drawing. You can find out more about this collection at my previous post. Click here to go to the listing for this orchid.

The species in my drawing is a Downy Rattlesnake Plantain (G. pubescens).

Rattlesnake plantain isn’t really plantain at all, but an orchid. Rattlesnake plantain, Goodyera spp., is probably one of the most widely distributed orchids. The range is from Canada and Alaska in the north and south to Mexico. It’s the leaves on these orchids that really bring the beauty.
