Original Artwork | Catalog

Current and past exhibits for art by Madison Woods.

My original artwork features pigments gathered from the Ozarks. I use nature to create paintings of nature. I keep online portfolios by year at the main Wild Ozark website.

Each year I am creating a catalog of my work for that year, with essays about my life as an artist and living in these rural Ozark mountains. They’ll be available directly from Amazon or my shop, and you can pick them up in person at the studio.

All of my work features my handmade paints. I make the paint from light-fast resources I’ve gathered from around here at Wild Ozark. Mostly I use rocks, clay, bone, and a couple of plant pigments. Plants are generally problematic as they are often not light-fast and so those go through a testing period before I use them in paintings. Currently the only three plant sources I use are osage root bark, indigo, and thyme. I also purchase titanium for adjusting color values in oil paints.

Keep up with New Original Artwork

Join my mailing list and select the special interest group to be notified when new originals are done, if you’d like a monthly catalog of everything available. If nothing new is done for the month, there won’t be a newsletter sent out until the next month. I do send out the general newsletter (sort of) monthly, but the catalog only goes to those interested in originals. I also list my work at my online shop, but not everything in the catalog is listed online.
