All of my archival prints are printed in house on a professional Canon art printer using archival inks and paper. The colors are matched as closely as possible to the original work. Some sizes of prints are cropped to fit within the margins. The original artwork is 22 x 30″. The 8 x 10″ cropping is most severe. All have a white border of 1/4″. The images below are how the actual prints with cropping will look:
About the original painting:
Whisper is a young Brahman cow painted in bone black and bone white pigments processed into watercolor paints. The bones were old and weathered, foraged here at Wild Ozark and are most likely deer in origin. To get the white, the bones need to be brought to very high temperatures and ashed. The black uses the same process, but at lower temperatures. Both the white and the black are put into the fire inside a container and protected from air exposure during the process. I use our woodstove in winter to make these colors.
She’s a sweet, sassy cow that my granddaughter loves, and I hope her personality shows through to you in this painting.
