Petunia is a sweet bearded dragon, and her colors are perfectly represented in my Ozark pigments, made from rocks as old as the fossils or older. All pigments used in the original painting are lightfast earth pigments from rocks. All rocks were sustainably gathered here on our property in Madison county, Arkansas, or gathered by hand from nearby creeks or King’s river banks. I make all of the paints I use in my art, and all colors are local to this area.
The sources I used for this reptile painting include yellow sandstone, red sandstone, black stone of some sort (most likely bituminous coal), shale, and bone. With a print of my art, you’ll get the best representation possible of those original colors. I make the prints in house on a commercial printer using archival inks and papers.
