Ordinarily I paint raptors, but this was a commission for a pelican-lover. Except for the French green clay that I used in the wing, all of the colors in the original painting are derived from Ozark pigments that I gathered and processed.

Collectible Earthy Paintings
My paintings always feature handmade watercolors. By using only my Wild Ozark Paleo Paints, my palette is limited to the colors of nature. My paintings will always be earthy and natural. No matter what the subject or style, you will instantly recognize it as my work.
This painting is a one-off subject, as pelicans are not my usual topic of interest. However it was a request, and I do take commissions. Email me if you have an idea for a painting you’d like. Keep in mind the colors don’t include blue or green, and I do mostly birds and other animals.
