Paint-Making Workshop at ONSC (Half-day)

Sign up for this workshop through ONSC (Ozark Natural Science Center).

I’ve decided to cancel this workshop in an abundance of caution regarding the coronavirus pandemic. Even if the risk is low, I do not want to contribute to participants increasing their odds by gathering together at this time. When we can get it rescheduled, I’ll put the link to the new listing up. Stay safe and virus free!

Time & Location

March 21, 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Ozark Natural Science Center, 1905 Madison 1305, Huntsville, AR, USA

Enjoy a hike to the creek where you will learn to select the best rocks and then bring them back, grind them up and create a mixture of different colors to use on your own paintings. This 4-hour workshop is labor intensive because you are breaking up rocks, so be prepared to sweat and will indulge the native artist in you as you learn to create a completely natural paint for your creations.

This is an introductory level class designed to walk you through the steps to making your own handmade watercolor paint from foraged, natural pigments from rocks. It’s faster paced and shorter duration than my all day workshops, but you’ll learn enough to do it again later on your own.

All class supplies are provided, including dust mask & safety glasses.

Members: $40

Non-members: $50
